How it works

From first call to power-on,
we handle it all.

Nine steps, and you make the decisions while we manage everything else. The crew on your roof comes from Continuum, our install partner, who’s completed thousands of installations across Northern California — they’ve seen every kind of roof, panel, and permitting office, so yours won’t surprise them.

Nine steps. Six to ten weeks. One point of contact.

The whole thing takes 6–10 weeks. Solar panels on your roof. You don't buy them. An energy company owns and maintains them, and you buy your electricity from them instead of from PG&E, at a lower rate locked in for 25 years.

We handle every step in between: permitting, design, install, inspection, utility paperwork. You sign off when it's time, and we let you know what to expect along the way.

Independent.
Always working for you.

From the first call to the day it powers on.

    Discovery call

15 minutes to learn what your home actually needs.

We learn about your home, what you're paying now, and what you want solar to do for you (lower bill, backup, EV charging). And we check basic qualification.

Not every home qualifies. Roofs that are too shaded, too small, or near end-of-life don't make sense for a 25-year system. We sort this out on the call, before any paperwork.

    Custom system design

Designed on your real usage. Not a guess.

Most solar reps design from a single bill. We pull your full 12 months of utility data and model your home on professional design software. Sun, shade, layout, system size: built around your actual home.

Why this matters. A summer bill and a winter bill tell different stories. Real 12-month data shows when you actually use power: heat-pump season, EV charging, time-of-use windows. We use it to size the system right, which helps avoid the annual true-up bills that can come with an undersized system.

    Proposal review

A Zoom call to walk every number.

We send the proposal, then walk through it together on Zoom. Every number, every assumption, every term. You ask questions. We answer in plain English.

This is where decisions get made. If something doesn't add up, we adjust the design, walk through alternatives, or part as friends. No pressure to sign.

    Site survey

A close look at your roof and electrical panel.

A technician visits to confirm the system layout and inspect your roof and electrical panel — making sure they can support a 25-year system. No cost. You only pay if you move forward.

    Final design + green-light

Locked in only when you say so.

With site survey results in hand, we finalize design and pricing. No equipment is ordered, no permits pulled, no install scheduled until you give the green light in writing.

Cancel anytime before install. California law requires a 5-day window. We give you the full pre-install period (weeks) with no penalties.

    Permits + paperwork

We handle every form, every final inspection.

Continuum handles every utility form, every city permit, every HOA approval, every final inspection. The longest stretch (4–6 weeks) is almost all waiting on utility timelines.

    Installation

1–2 days. Crew in, crew out.

Continuum's crew arrives in their own trucks, in their own uniforms, and finishes most installs in 1–2 days. On time. Cleaned up.

    Your system turns on.

The utility grants final Permission to Operate (PTO). Your system starts producing. Your locked-in rate begins.
